Leadership and Development

The CSSE Calgary Chapter Leadership Development program is accepting applications from CSSE members looking to develop their leadership potential. The idea behind the program is to bring leadership development education to our members. Foundationally in the world of safety we know we need more leaders. We need people who can influence good decisions and positive behavior. People that will see work that needs to get done and do it even though they know someone else may get credit for it. We know that leadership is hard, but we also know that leadership skills can be developed. Our members have asked for this formalized leadership development and providing it a “leadership imperative”.

After the successful pilot of the program in 2015-2016 and then again in the winter of 2018 we are again bringing it back for CSSE members from the Calgary and surrounding region. The CSSE Calgary Chapter Leadership Development program includes three 1-day in-person sessions. An outline of the program can be reviewed here. Registration is free for CSSE members and class size is limited to 20 participants. Registration for non-members is $525.00.leadership graphic

The primary goal of the program is to encourage and develop high potential, long-term leaders in Calgary and the surrounding region by offering focused leadership educational content, an opportunity for hands-on involvement, group member interaction with the program facilitators, and managed networking opportunities to CSSE members.  The knowledge and skills learned, and abilities developed through participation and interaction we hoped would translate directly to CSSE leadership roles, as well and those in the employment setting.

If you are interested in participating or learning more about the leadership development program please watch and listen to the recording of the information session here: https://youtu.be/FZs9-VVoE0I
