Mid North Ontario Chapter

About Us

The Canadian Society of Safety Engineering (CSSE) is the leading health, safety and environmental organization for professionals in Canada. We work with industry, governmental agencies, and other safety organizations to promote a greater awareness of health, safety, and environmental issues in workplaces and communities across the nation and around the world.

The Mid North Ontario Chapter of the CSSE spans from South – Bing Inlet; East to North Bay including Mattawa; North along the Quebec border to Hudson Bay; West to Batchawana Bay. Our chapter currently has about 60 active members. Our group is engaged in many significant activities in the community including Health & Safety Conferences, NAOSH Week, and Steps for Life.

The CSSE Mid North Ontario Chapter was chartered in 2012 to provide a professional forum for safety and health professionals in our region.

The chapter is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The current Chair is Darren Toner.

The purposes of the chapter are sharing occupational and health and safety information, networking, and professional development. This is accomplished by:

  • Hosting Chapter meetings with guest speakers
  • Offering CSSE specialized professional development courses
  • Participating in Health & Safety Conferences
  • Supporting North American Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH) Week activities and Steps for Life
  • Launching an interactive dedicated chapter website

CSSE members in good standing are welcome to join our chapter, and you are encouraged to get involved with the chapter and its Board.
