CSSE North of 60 Chapter is presenting the Asbestos Worker Abatement Course on Friday, June 8 & Saturday, June 9, 2018 at United Church. The cost is $275 CSSE members, $300 non-members.
The course is designed to meet the requirements of the WSCC Asbestos Abatement Code of Practice.
Part of your fees will be used as a fundraising activity for the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers (CSSE) North of 60 Chapter.
The course will be presented by Cara Benoit, CRSP ROHT.
This course is divided into the following eight components: Asbestos and asbestos-containing materials Health effects associated with exposure Legislation Asbestos abatement methods Personal protective equipment Air monitoring and analysis Other health and safety hazards
In addition to lectures, written exercises and final exam, there will be hands-on activities designed to familiarize the students with the practical aspects of asbestos removal. These include respirator care & use, glove-bag removal exercises, fundamentals of construction of high-risk containments and the three-stage decontamination facility.
