"Eight Critical Steps to Fleet Safety Excellence" Webinar

Do you know if your employees drive personal vehicles for work and what implications exist? Does your company have written policy and procedure regarding vehicle use? Are employee driving skills ever assessed? How about driving records? Most organizations that own vehicles and have employees who drive them have some type of policy or program to define when and how company or private vehicles are to be used for work purposes, but few have a proper fleet safety program that addresses all safety and liability concerns. This webinar discusses the 8 critical elements that must be present in an effective fleet safety program. By the end of the webinar you will have the skill to assess your vehicle safety program to identify strengths and weaknesses and to complete a gap analysis using a provided assessment tool. If your organization is experiencing vehicle incident rates above what you believe are acceptable, this is a first step to getting a handle on a difficult issue.

Spencer McDonald is founder and President of Thinking Driver. He has appeared on national television and radio, writes a column for Canadian Occupational Safety e-magazine, and is an international speaker on road and driver safety. In 2008, he won the Transport Canada and Transportation Association of Canada Award of Achievement.

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify 8 fleet safety program elements
  • Explain why courses and/or training is only one part of the answer to fleet safety
  • Complete a fleet self-assessment and gap analysis for their company fleet using a provided tool
