"Best-in-Class Contractor Management" Webinar

One of the key issues facing health and safety professionals is the continued growth of outsourcing non-core business activities to third-party contractors. Contractors play a strategic role in the business ecosystem. They enable hiring organizations to streamline their operations, manage their risk exposure, optimize their cost structure, and sharpen their focus on core competencies. For some organizations, it is not uncommon for 80 percent or more of their work activities to be outsourced and completed by third-party contracting companies. It remains the prime duty of the site owner to ensure operations are undertaken in a safe and sustainable manner, and only qualified contractors are identified, selected and used throughout the life of a project. The challenge and opportunity lies in establishing a robust contractor management strategy to effectively mitigate risk exposures associated with use of contractors. This presentation will address the 10 key attributes of an effective, best-in-class contractor management system. In addition, we will share results of a recent survey of 204 decision makers from 161 hiring organizations from the United States and Canada. This information will provide insight into the attributes of leading hiring organizations and will enable attendees to benchmark themselves with their peers. This webinar is an excellent lead-in to the 2019 PDC session Contractor Management Strategy.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the key elements of an effective contractor management strategy.
