Wendy Beales, M.S.W., RSW, is a Family Counsellor with Family Services Durham, where she is also regularly involved in the provision of workshops on the topics of self-care, crisis de-escalation, motivational interviewing, Mental Health First Aid ™ and more. Wendy has worked for approximately 18 years in the mental health and addictions sectors in both Canada and Scotland with children, youth and adults, which has included counselling/psychotherapy, case management and program development. Wendy is passionate about working with diverse communities and supporting individuals and families to identify and increase ways of coping in times of difficulty
Description:
Mental Health in the Workplace.
This presentation will provide a brief overview of mental health, including mental health difficulties and how these may present in individuals along with the importance of challenging stigma and addressing myths and misinformation. Participants will learn some strategies to support others potentially struggling with mental health concerns in the workplace along with ways to promote resiliency and a supportive work culture. There will also be an opportunity for questions.
