General FAQ

What is the cost to attend?

The member rate is $100. There is no non-member rate, all non-members will need to register for a membership ($205) before registering for the workshop for a total of $305.

Is this open to all CSSE members?
Yes! Since this study group is virtual, we're able to offer it to any CSSE member.

Where will the workshop be held?
The Chapter has a Zoom Meet room. People will receive a link to a Google site will all of the information about the study group, the handouts, schedule, and Zoom link.

Do I need to attend all the sessions?
Part of being in a study group is attending each session, learning from each other, and sharing in the years of experience that the group brings together. We understand that life can be difficult to balance, but since there are limited spots we recommend that if you're not able to attend over 80% of the sessions live to let someone else take the spot.

Why do I need to register again with Zoom?
Due to security protocols, you will need to register for the meeting with a Zoom account. Once you've registered on the Zoom platform, you will receive an additional confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

What is a breakout room?
A breakout room is a smaller virtual room within the main meeting allowing for group discussions. You will be asked to "join" a breakout room; by clicking join you'll be transferred to a random breakout room to talk about the topic with others. Think about this like being asked to discuss with your table during an in-person event. A 60-second reminder will occur to prompt you back into the main room.

To get the most of the study group, please make sure your camera and mic are operational.

If I have technical issues during the session, who do I contact?
There will be a technical support person available throughout the session. You can email, call, or send them a private message. We will introduce the designated tech support person at the beginning of the session.

When is this whole thing happening?
December 8th, 2020. See the event page for more details on the specific days.

Is the workshop live?
The workshop will be live and only accessible to those registered to attend the live event. There will NOT be any recording available.

I still have questions!
