    4. Guest Presenter: Alex Keaveny, Senior Crown Counsel, NS Public Prosecution Service
      Topic: Legal Update 
      1. Alex Keaveny is a Senior Crown Counsel with the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service. He has worked as a prosecutor in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and with the Canadian Forces for more than 15 years. From 2006 to 2011 Alex practiced with the Halifax law firm Stewart McKelvey in civil litigation, tax litigation and regulatory defense. Alex returned to the Nova Scotia Public Prosecution Service in 2011, and since July 2014 has been the dedicated workplace safety prosecutor with the PPS's Appeals and Special Prosecutions section. Alex has been a Reserve Officer (Lt(N)) with the Canadian Forces since 2019 and serves as a prosecutor with the Canadian Military Prosecution Service. Alex has been part-time faculty at Dalhousie University's Schulich School of Law since 2008, co-teaching the Civil Trial Practice course, and has co-taught the Occupational Health and Safety Law and Regulations course at Dal's College of Continuing Education since 2015.
