Northern Light Chapter: NOT Ergonomics

Date: Thursday Sep 15, 2022

Time: 12pm – 1:30pm (Central Standard Time - Regina)

Hope everyone's summer went well.  As fall approaches we begin our 2022/23 season.

Here is our next presentation that takes place on September 15th at noon:  NOT Ergonomics

Could you, your employees and those you love be addicted to sugar?  Could you go without sugar for a month?  Don’t we need sugar for energy?  What do the current Canadian Nutritional Guidelines say about daily sugar intake?  Do you know what your gut sees as sugar?  Have you heard about insulin resistance?  Do you know your current blood glucose level, or HA1C?  These are a lot of questions, but why does this matter? Join this short discussion session to begin to scratch the surface to learn more about what this could mean to you, your loved ones and employees.  We are doing pretty good on the Safety side of OHS, but we have a long way to go on the physical and mental health side.  It’s time we start connecting the dots and do more for our health!

We begin our season with a presentation by Patrick Hauser.  Over the past nine years Patrick Hauser has conducted hundreds of ergonomic assessments and numerous training sessions through his work at the University of Saskatchewan as the Safety and Compliance Coordinator.  Then, in April 2018 Patrick was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.  But instead of taking the drugs to control the symptoms of this supposedly ‘chronic and progressive’ disease he cut out the sugar and processed food and is no longer considered diabetic.  More recently Patrick started consulting with experienced food scientists and learned that it’s NOT Ergonomics that is the real key to preventing chronic MSIs in the long-term.

Patrick will argue that most people are being unwittingly set up to fail within our current global industrialized processed food environment, together with our current disease treatment (rather than disease prevention) medical and pharmaceutical industries, who are all doing nothing but profiting from making everyone confused, addicted, chronically sick, and on more and more drugs, until they eventually die of some inflammatory chronic disease directly linked to their ever increasing insulin resistance.  Was this happening even just 100 years ago?  No!  Is the current situation improving?  No, it’s only getting worse.

Bottom line – it’s time we all got back to eating REAL FOOD!  Drawing from personal experiences and research over the past five years Patrick will highlight: the sordid history and highly questionable science related to promoting processed food over the past 50+ years; the ubiquity of various (and often hidden) sugars in most peoples’ diet; and highlight the connection between insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, chronic MSIs and basically all other chronic inflammatory diseases.

Feel free to share the invitation with others.
