Election Process

An open call was issued by CSSE management by e-Blast and public notice on the CSSE website on February 16, 2023. Members were invited to come forward if they had an interest in running for the National Board.

Each running member is required to meet minimum requirements of the position as outlined in the CSSE National Board Leadership and Competency Guidelines.

Each candidate was vetted by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Executive Director as neutral parties and to ensure a transparent process. The resulting outcome is a competency-based Board to drive the CSSE strategic vision.

Candidates are prohibited from soliciting votes or campaigning for votes. All candidates will be provided the same opportunities for exposure by the CSSE management team. Members who feel that candidates are in violation of these rules can contact the Executive Director through  [email protected] to file an investigation.

The 2023–2025 slate of candidates will be presented to CSSE members for ratification at the 2023 Special Annual General Meeting (AGM) on April 19, 2023. This will follow the administration of an electronic vote calculated by the CSSE management team that will be available in the member portal from March 20, 2023, closing on March 31, 2023, at 5 p.m. PST.

Results of the vote will be shared by the CEO, Christopher Barry, at the Special AGM.

All those eligible to vote at the AGM must be members in active standing with the CSSE.
