Thank you to All who attended our Bill 47 webinar on February 11th. We are excited to announce our second Bill 47 webinar ...
Please join us Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Noon for our Bill 47 Part 2 update focused on changes to WCB. Representatives from Alberta Labour and Immigration and the Workers’ Compensation Board will provide an overview of upcoming changes to the Workers’ Compensation Act passed as part of Bill 47: Ensuring Safety and Cutting Red Tape Act, 2020.
Alberta Labour and Immigration:
- John Kelly, Executive Lead, Workplace Policy and Legislation (OHS and WCB)
- Jessica Winship, Director, OHS and WCB Policy and Legislation
Alberta Workers' Compensation Board:
- Adrianne Lozinski, Director of Operations and Risk Management
Cost: CSSE Members $10 plus GST; Non-Members $30 plus GST
Bill 47 amends the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Radiation Protection Act and the Workers’ Compensation Act to simplify language and remove unnecessary barriers for job creators without making substantive changes to workers’ rights and protections. Bill 47 brings balance to workplaces and helps ensure workers can rely on a sustainable compensation system if they get ill or injured on the job. Reducing red tape supports Alberta’s economic recovery by helping attract new investment opportunities and getting people back to work.
Note: This Bill 47 update is Part 2 of a 2-Part Series. Part 2 focuses on the changes to the Workers’ Compensation Act.
