October 4, 2018:
The CSSE Calgary Chapter Leadership Development program is accepting applications from CSSE members looking to develop their leadership potential.  The idea behind the program is to bring leadership development education to our members.  Foundationally in the world of safety we know we need more leaders.  We need people who can influence good decisions and positive behavior.  People that will see work that needs to get done and do it even though they know someone else may get credit for it. We know that leadership is hard, but we also know that leadership skills can be developed.  Our members have asked for this formalized leadership development and providing it a “leadership imperative”.

If you are interested in participating or learning more about the leadership development program please watch and listen to the recording of the information session here: https://youtu.be/FZs9-VVoE0I For additional  information contact Glyn Jones at [email protected]

Volunteers Needed

Tech: A videographer with basic skill level and some video editing skills is needed to record upcoming events for the CSSE.  Equipment and basic instructoin is available.  If you're interested, please contact Maurya at [email protected].

Communications: Are you a great writer, good with Twitter, enjoy working with websites? Contact April at [email protected] to join our communications team!

Social: Are you social, like planning events and connecting with others? Contact our Social Chair, Stephanie Raill, at [email protected] to learn more! Even if you would like to coordinate a single event, we would love to hear from you. As an example, many of you indicated that you would like to see a Dinner planned for members - would anyone like to take that on?

2019 NAOSH Committee: Althought it seems far away right now, planning for 2019's NAOSH Education Day is starting already. What topics should we be considering (our focus is on issues that may not be well represented or that are new and that apply to all areas of OHS)? What should our focus workshop look at? If you have some thoughts around this, like to design handouts, or just are happy to help on the day off, please let April know at [email protected]
