Board of Directors - Chalena Biggar

With just under 10 years in the Health & Safety field, Chalena has already achieved success by implementing key safety initiatives within the organizations she’s worked with throughout the Atlantic provinces. She has experience in such industries as construction, transportation, manufacturing, processing, fisheries and aquaculture. Her speciality areas include evaluating safety management systems, incident reporting systems management and encouraging an open and positive safety culture.

Upon beginning her career in OH&S, Chalena quickly obtained her HSA, CSC and COR with the New Brunswick Construction Safety Association as well as completing her OHS Certificate from UNB. In 2019 she obtained her CRST Designation and began the journey to complete her CHSC. 

Chalena is currently the Senior Regional Health & Safety Manager with Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a family owned company that started with a passion for seafood in 1985 and is now a global seafood leader.  She resides in Saint John, NB with her husband and two dogs.
